Reece Burke
Lad who works at my place is a Bradford City season ticket holder. Hes been banging on this morning about how class he is, that initially all their fans were moaning about getting a young lad in on loan, and now want to try and get him all season. Composed and Class apparently, like a young Rio.

Well done lad, good to see youre doing well

Oxford, Burke and Cullen. Looking like we have a decent crop on our hands. Lets not forget the 'next Gareth Bale' either in Borg.

Re: Reece BURKE.
He should primarily be loaned out to help him develop and round out his skills as well as refine his abilities and yet gain him more strings to his bow.
Increasing his worth should be simply a book product of his development.

Wrong on all counts.

>>> Alex once supported Chelsea's use of the loan system but now doesn't support West Ham's.

That would be an acceptable view. I don't see any contradiction there.

The stuff quoted about Chelsea's loan system was over the issue of whether what they're doing should be allowed. I happen to think that it should. I'm not a 'supporter' of it. I can accept that it seems to, to some extent at least, works. I see the logic of it. Do I like it? Not particularly. Do I think it would work for us? No.

>>> He states that the loaning a player out doesn't work but has no evidence to back that up even in the light of overwhelming evidence it does work.

What overwhelming evidence is that? I don't see any on this thread.

I didn't say loaning players categorically won't work. Loans can work. Even ones I criticise would have some positive and some negative aspects - whether any loan 'works' is hard to ever fully measure. That's why I think it's interesting to theorise on the strengths and weaknesses of the system. Rather than just accept the received wisdom.

>>> Alex is a contrary twat.

My view on this has been consistent over years. My views on youth development I've been writing about on here for well over a decade.

The relentless negative point-scoring on here is poisonous. People simply cannot accept differing views - it's so childish.

"Heck even Lukaku and De Bruyne didn't make it."

They seem to be playing first team football in the PL, I think they've made it. The difference is that Chelsea see younger players as appreciating assets, to be bought for a price, improved upon, and be sold on for profit. Which is exactly what they have done.

What I think is the same policy doesn't suit all clubs.

Bwahahahahha

No, obviously not. It just suits when it fits in with your nonsense you've posted and forgotten about.

Right so basically we have a thread which shows:

Alex once supported Chelsea's use of the loan system but now doesn't support West Ham's.

He states that the loaning a player out doesn't work but has no evidence to back that up even in the light of overwhelming evidence it does work.

Alex is a contrary twat.

You've had a stinker here Alex.

Re: Reece Burke
I think that's a ridiculous rule. I'm glad Burke is playing at Bradford, and I'm glad he's putting in the performances.

If you were his boss, I'd imagine he'd think you're off your rocker. You wouldn't play him or allow him to move to Bradford, only a club like Atletico Madrid?

Who's entire team would defeat ours, with all our best players playing?

You clearly have an issue with me Croe.

You will eventually see I am right, just as I was recently in my argument that Tomkins should remain at right back after the Arsenal game. It has all gone very quiet since that argument...

Eggbert Nobacon 6:14 Tue Sep 8

Well that's a point - if I was to use the same lame logic to claim that players with no loans did better, my argument would be untouchable. The vast majority of top players did not go on loan - it's as simple as that!

What I think is the same policy doesn't suit all clubs. And some loans are better than others. If Burke was being loaned to Athletico Madrid I'd be much more positive about it. Jenkinson's loans to us have, in some ways, massively benefitting Arsenal. Cannot be denied.

Courtois is the only obvious one I think, and you'd have to say that was one of the most sensational loan spells in the history of the sport!

imagine how good he could have been with no loan eh Alex?

Re: Reece Burke
Egg, as said earlier....in Alex eyes, there's a small window of opportunity, that only he can see.
When Fanimo was loaned, it ruined him. Much like Cohen loan to (Yeovil was it?). The blame lies with West Ham in his eyes.
But he still supports Chelsea's loan system for doing exactly the same. But then will suggest it doesn't work.

It's hard to put a pin on what his opinion is. Quite fun. I'm a sad cunt though.
